Gothic/Romanesque architecture
For my architecture project, I used 2- point perspective to draw buildings with Gothic and Romanesque features. I had the option of choosing between drawing a city with these features, or I had the alternative of focusing on one building with a more elaborate design, with many details.
In this project, I learned about drawing in 2-point perspective. The process of drawing in this perspective requires two vanishing points on either end of a horizon line. Furthermore, one of my personal struggles for this particular drawing was drawing in 2-point perspective. Throughout the drawing process, I was constantly confused with the angles, points and lines. On the other hand, the easier points were that once you got the hang of 2-point perspective, all you had to do was add several details and trace your sketch with a sharpie. Therefore, after drawing the basic outline of the building, the next steps were just editing and finalizing.
