AUTOBIOGRAPHY map
In the autobiography map, I depicted myself with 10 symbols. Among these symbols were valuable memories and hobbies. I used watercolor paints and different painting techniques including 'wet on dry', 'watercolor was', 'wet on wet' and 'waterdrops' to capture the different textures of various landforms. For example, I used the wet on wet technique for my ocean to give the impression that the ocean for my map, was legitimately an ocean. I included a colorful compass on the top of my map, so my map was somewhat "navigable"
For this project, I really enjoyed the painting portion of this project. Painting in general has always been a passion and hobby of mine. However, a downside of the painting part was that a lot of the paint was blending with other colors. Furthermore, I found that if you were to paint your ocean a blue, then you would have to finish painting your ocean during one session in order for the color to maintain the same shade. In my case, I had to work extra hard on blending the colors in my ocean because the part of the ocean I painted in the last session always turned out darker than the part of the ocean I painted the previous class.
